The Missing Sense: Enhancing Children's Sense of Nature Connectedness Through Olfaction

Olfaction is often pushed aside when considering positive interactions between people and nature – even if they are used, only pleasant smells have been studied. This paper aims to deepen the understanding of negatively-perceived smells and their effects, criticizing how "sanitizing" nature's smells risks fostering unrealistic perceptions of nature.
